President Mahama Promises Decent Housing For Ghana Armed Forces.
President John Mahama has assured the Ghana Armed Forces that his government will pursue an aggressive housing policy to provide decent accommodation for military officers.
President Mahama says the project is already under consideration by Parliament and is aimed at improving the welfare of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The President made the promise when he met the Armed Forces Council and the Defense Minister in Accra Thursday morning.
President Mahama also praised the security services for exhibiting professionalism during and after the December elections.
He said “Your contribution to a large extent ensured the successful conduct of the December 7 elections, and I am most grateful for that”.
For his part, Defense Minister Joseph Henry Smith praised the government for giving a lot of attention to the Ghana Armed Forces by providing needed logistics and equipment.
But the Minister added that the Army still had more needs left to be met and appealed to government to do more to provide the other needs of the Ghana Armed Forces.
