Doctors Tell Kofi Annan: We Won’t Call Off Strike.

The Ghana Medical Medication Association has stated that they cannot immediately call off the strike, which was initially suggested by the Former UN Secretary General.

With the government now accepting liability, Kofi Annan is calling for an immediate resolution of the impasse to save lives.

According to Dr Owusu Sekyere, certain things have been put on the table, which allows them [Doctors] to have a clearer understanding on how committed the government will be when paying.

However, the doctors who met the Health Ministry on Tuesday 23rd April are demanding a full schedule for the payment of the arrears that are due.

President of the Greater Accra regional branch of the Ghana Medical Association Dr Owusu Sekyere told XYZ News that the doctors will take a decision based on government’s commitment.
