Some Ghanaian students on government scholarship in Morocco are living in difficult conditions.

This follows deductions made by the Ghanaian embassy on allowances sent by the government to support the students.

Speaking to Citi News, one of the affected students, Isaac Oppong indicated that they borrowed money from the embassy and upon receiving US$250 from the government, the amount borrowed was deducted from the money government sent them.

According to them, “a letter of refund sent to the Ghanaian embassy in Morocco to be forwarded to the Ghanaian embassy but was declined by the embassy.”

He indicated that attempts to reach the scholarship secretariat in Ghana have yielded no result.

The students are therefore calling on government to come to their aid.
