Hohoe NDC Youth Fight Over Public Toilet
A timely intervention by the Police in Hohoe in the Volta Region prevented a bloodbath between some irate National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth and residents of the area over the ownership of a public toilet.
The confusion according to reports ensued after the youth with the support of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) tried to take over the management of a public toilet in the area.
This resulted in a scuffle when community members who manage the facility resisted the takeover.
Speaking to Citi News, the Assemblyman for the Tevi-Adabraka Electoral area, Mustapha Hillary reiterated that they would resist all attempts by the NDC youth to take over the management of the public toilet.
He explained that the youth who are calling for the takeover are not residents of his electoral area and this would cause a lot of problems for them hence their refusal.
According to reports, the Kotokoli Chief in the Zongo area took over the management of the facility from the youth due to some misunderstanding.
But because he (Kotokoli Chief) failed to hand it over to the assembly, the assembly took over and later decided that the facility be handed over to the NDC youth who are demanding accountability from the assembly.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Police Command has called for a meeting between the two factions in a bid to settle their differences.
