Kwadwo Nkansah ‘Lil Win’ heals his emotional wounds.
Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah has slowly made a comeback to occupy the spot he lost after his infamous performance at the Ghana Meets Naija Concert in May.
Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as DJ Lil Win fell from grace when his electrifying performance with rapper Guru was marred by a weed-selling controversy.
During the performance, Lil Win came on stage with a bag claiming it contained some secret medicine. He later revealed that the medicine in the bag was marijuana (wee), which he was going to sell to the crowd. His antics didn’t go down well with the organizers of the concert who kicked him off the stage to avoid further embarrassment.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the 28-year-old actor revealed how the incident affected his career. Lil Win said he avoided everyone and wept in his room for many days after the incident.
“Movie producers who had already paid me for my services became angry I was not picking their calls. I had to explain to the producers later that I had some pressing issues I needed to take care of.
“It took the intervention of my friends and family members to bring me back from the shock. Had it not been them, I don’t think I would have been able to pull myself together and come back from the shock.
“I will forever be grateful to my friends and family members who consoled me to put the past behind me and move forward,” he told Graphic Showbiz.
Lil Win also revealed that both foreign and Nigerian movies have had a great influence on his acting career.
“I watch foreign and Nigerian comedies to stay on top of my game.
When I am not shooting, I stay in my room watching comedy movies to improve on what I know.
“More so, I try not to repeat my jokes in order to stay relevant all the time. I have come to realize that Ghanaians want to hear something different from me so I make it my business to always learn new jokes to entertain them” he said.
