Kantanka Group of Companies to begin commercial production of automobiles.
Ghanaians will soon get the chance to purchase the Kantanka brand of vehicles made in Ghana by Ghanaian inventor and philanthropist, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo.
A manufacturer’s license has been issued to the Kantanka Group of Companies to begin mass production of the automobiles.
Kwadwo Safo Jnr, the son of Apostle Safo, who is also the Chief Operations Officer of the company, confirmed this in a video posted on Instagram last Monday.
“Today is the happiest day in the history of Kantanka. Finally-finally we have our manufacturer’s license. The sky is the limit,” he said.
In a recent interview with Al Jazeera, Kwadwo Safo Jnr. revealed that the company currently assembles 6 to 10 cars in a day but they are hoping to increase the number to 12 or 15 daily when it goes commercial.
Asked about the price, Safo Jnr said, “The cars will be “affordable” and middle-income earners will be able to buy them. We know the market and we can assure you that Africans will be able to buy our cars,” he told Al Jazeera.
The Great Kosa Suaye Technology Centre located at Gomoa Mpota in the central region is the production site for the company’s products.
Other technological innovations produced by the Kantanka Group of Companies include; television sets, block moulding machines, air conditioners, electric guitars, excavators etc.
Under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo, the company has spearheaded many other innovations without any government or external support.
