Prez. John Mahama Meets Queen Elizabeth II.
President John Mahama and his wife, Lordina, on Thursday paid a courtesy call on 88-year-old Queen Elizabeth II at the Buckingham Palace in London.
The meeting was one of the many engagements by the President as part of his visit to the United Kingdom. Mahama and the Queen informally discussed issues of common interest surrounding the two countries.
The President also presented a copy of his book, “My First Coup D’etat And Other True Stories from the Lost Decades of Africa” to Queen Elizabeth II.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians in the UK have hit the streets of London to demonstrate against the administration of the President over the worsening economic conditions in Ghana.
The group which calls itself Concerned Ghanaians in the United Kingdom is also calling on the President to apologize over some comments he allegedly made during his visit.
They claim President Mahama lied to the Ghanaian community in the UK about the real state of Ghana’s economy. The President was quoted to have said the country’s economy was “doing very well.”
