Gabriel Barima Re-appointed as Ahafo Ano South DCE
Hon. Gabriel Barima, the former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South in the Ashanti Region has been re-appointed by President Dramani Mahama. The DCE was sacked earlier this year for public misconduct.
He was re-nominated in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and section 20 of the Local Government Act, Act 462, 1993.
Gabriel Barima popularly known as the ‘Tweaa DCE’ made headlines earlier this year for storming out of a public event in a fit of anger after he was heckled with the local swear word, “tweaa.”
A video recording of the incident which went viral prompted public outcry as many found it disrespectful and called for his dismissal.
He was initially reprimanded and pardoned by the Government but was later sacked after he granted an interview to a local radio station in which he described his action as an “achievement.”
