A vibrant youth based group in Wa, Friends of Bawumia has congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his historic victory at the just ended presidential primaries.

At a press conference in Wa addressed by the secretary of the group, Mr. Jaoto Hanif, he thanked the party’s council of elders and the flag bearer for reposing confidence in Dr. Bawumia which lead to his appointment as the running mate of the party.

The Upper West based NPP group is poised to seeing the New Patriotic Party return to power under the leadership of Nana Akufo Addo and Dr Mahammudu Bawumia.

The group calls for unity among the members of the party nationwide which will help secure a landslide victory in the coming 2016 Presidential Elections.

“All party members must therefore see this unity call as fundamental and non-negotiable spirits that can help us achieve our collective goal as a political party,” Mr. Jaoto advised.

The group is made up of representatives from all the constituencies across the Upper West region with the aim of establishing branches nationwide. The aim is to dispel the notion of supporting Dr. Bawumia based on the fact that he hails from the northern part of Ghana but for he being an economic ‘whiz kid.’

Friends of Bawumia are certain that the perfect pair for an electoral victory is the duo the party has now. They have pledged to work relentlessly until power is delivered in the 2016 elections. This is why the group has slated several events including a massive cleanup exercise and a weekend keep fit exercise for its members and other people who may be interested.

It would be recalled that last week the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo retained his two time running mate for the upcoming elections.

In the view of most pundits, Dr. Mahammud Bawumia, a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana is the most appropriate running mate for the largest opposition party in Ghana.
