Agyemang Badu says the absence of Kwadwo Asamoah and Asamoah Gyan will affect the team
Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has conceded that the absence of Black Stars duo Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah will adversely affect the Ghana team ahead of their final round of the 2015 Afcon qualifiers against Uganda and Togo.
The Black Stars will be without their influential duo who have been ruled out of the game due to their respective injuries.
Kwadwo Asamoah has been sidelined for two weeks while Gyan is also struggling for fitness.
Agyemang-Badu who is the likeliest candidate to star in the Black Stars midfield in the absence of Kwadwo Asamoah has admitted that the team will be affected but they will be motivated by the presence of their injured captain Asamoah Gyan.
“It will be difficult for the team especially when we are missing two great players, Kwadwo Asamoah and Asamoah Gyan,” Badu said.
“But at least we will have Asamoah Gyan in the stands to support us and we know Kwadwo Asamoah will also be with us in spirit.
“We will do our best to ensure we win this game and come back home with all the three points.”
Ghana only need a point in the two qualifying games to seal a qualification slot for the 2015 Afcon tourney as they sit on top of the log sheet with 8 points two more than the second placed team the Hawks of Togo.
