Main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold a National Thanksgiving Service this Sunday, November 30, 2014.

The Service which will start at 3pm will be held at the Wesley Methodist Church, Hanson Road in Accra.

A press statement signed by the party’s National Organizer, John Boadu says the aim is to “thank the Lord on the election of our Presidential Candidate for the 2016 Elections, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.”

According to the statement, “Party members, sympathisers and the general public are cordially invited to join us thank the Lord for his mercies.”

Former Attorney General, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was elected the Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party on October 18, 2014.

Over 140,000 delegates in 275 constituencies across the country went to the polls to select a new leader to lead the party into the 2016 presidential election.

Nana Akufo Addo won massively by 94.35% while his biggest opponent, Alan Kyeremanten had only 4.75%. The third candidate, MP for Mampong Constituency, Addai Nimo received 0.91%.

Speaking to party supporters in Accra, Nana Addo expressed his gratitude for the massive endorsement.

“I am profoundly grateful and truly humbled by your overwhelming endorsement. The NPP must rid the country of, through the ballot the incompetent government of John Dramani Mahama,” Nana Addo stated.
