Rashid Sumaila marked his debut game for Kotoko on his return as the porcupine warriors won by a goal to nil in an international friendly game against an Ivorian side AS Tanda on Sunday at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi.

Sumaila penned down a year loan deal for Asnate Kotoko after he was declared surplus to requirement by Pitso Mosmimane side Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 21-year-old started the friendly game and was paired with Ohene Brenya in the heart of Asante Kotoko defends as he looks forward in re-launching his footballing career in the Ghanaian top-flight.

In the game Rashid Sumaila defends the goal line of Asante Kotoko as his side won by a solitary goal. Thanks to Ahmed Toure’s 28th minute strike.

Kotoko starting line-up: Joseph Addo, Rahim Ayew, Emmanuel Asante, Ohene Branya, Rashid Sumaila, Michael Akuffo, Obed Owusu, Jordan Opoku, Richard Mpong, Ahmed Toure and Prince Baffoe.
