Ghana to face Guinea after lots draw


The Black Stars of Ghana will face Guinea in the Quarter-finals in the ongoing AFCON tourney on Sunday after a draw on Thursday in Malabo.

Guinea and Mali drew 1-1 and after their final Group D games they had the same points and goals but per CAF tournament regulation a draw for the two teams was made which Guinea won the draw.

The Black Stars of Ghana will now have to face the Guineans a side they beat during the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.

Group C Summary

Ghana beat South Africa by 2 goals to 1 last Tuesday to qualify to the next stage of the competition.

Algeria also sent Senegal home packing by beating the 2002 AFCON runners-up by 2 goals to nothing.

At the end of Group C games, Ghana and Algeria tied with 6 points, but Ghana wins the Group due to the head to head rule with Senegal 4 points and South Africa 1 point.
