Ghana’s Prez hosts Black Stars team at the Flagstaff
Ghana’s President, H.E John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday morning hosted the Black Stars team that placed second in the just ended 2015 AFCON tourney.
The Black Stars lost the final game 9-8 penalty shoot-outs to Ivory Coast after 120 minutes of scintillating goalless draw game.
The four time Africa champions in the Tuesday meeting with the President at the Flagstaff house were led by the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi.
H.E John Dramani Mahama in his statement to the Black Stars team said:
“The Black Stars have restored our confidence in the senior national football team, they improved from match to match and nobody can take away anything from the team’s performance”.
The President also announced a bonus package of $25000 for the Black Stars team for placing second.
” We have some rewards for you. GNPC is your headline sponsor and GNPC had made a promise to reward you when you come back. And, so GNPC has asked me to announce that they will give you a reward of US$25,000 to each of you”.
