Ghana’s coach Avram Grant calls 23 players for the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius

Head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Avram Grant has named 23 players ahead of the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius at the Accra sports stadium on the 14th June, 2015.

The 23 players called will begin a non residential camping on Thursday ahead of the game which the Black Stars are looking forward to pick their first 3 points.

Bernard Mensah who has been in blossom form this season for Vitoria Guimaraes in the Portuguese top-flight has been handed his maiden call up while Albert Adomah return into the squad after missing the 2015 AFCON.

However, Andre Ayew was not named in the squad due to an injury he sustained during Olympique de Marseille penultimate French league 1 game.

Defenders: Harrison Afful (Esperance, Tunisia), John Boye (Erciyesspor, Turkey), Jonathan Mensah (Evian, France), Jeffery Schlupp (Leicester City, England), Baba Rahman (Augsburg, Germany), Gyimah Edwin (Mpumalanga Black Aces, South Africa), Daniel Amartey, (FC Copenhagen, Denmark)

Midfielders: Rabiu Mohammed (Krasnodar, Russia), Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu (Udinese, Italy), Afriyie Acquah (Sampdoria, Italy), Solomon Asante (T.P. Mazembe, DR Congo), Christian Atsu (Bournemouth, England), Mubarak Wakaso (Celtic, Scotland), Frank Acheampong (Anderlecht, Belgium) Albert Adomah (Middlesbrough, England), Bernard Mensah (Vitoria Guimaraes, Portugal)
