Ghana’s Michael Essien completes Panathinaikos move
Ghana’s midfielder, Michael Essien has officially joined Greek side Panathinaikos on a 2 year deal, Exposegahan.com can confirm.
Essien who moved from Chelsea to AC Milan in the 2013 league season failed to impress at the Milan based club as he was mostly benched by the head coach of the side, Filipo Inzaghi.
With the 32 year old Ghanaian international having no playing time at Milan the former Chelsea hard tackler in looking for a playing time decided to join Panathinaikos on a 2 year deal, the club announced.
“Panathinaikos FC is delighted to announce that came to an agreement with Michael Essien. The Ghanaian midfielder will belong to our Club for the next two years and we welcome him to the family of Panathinaikos”.
Michael Essien after putting pen to paper said: “I am very happy that I am here and that I will continue my career in Panathinaikos. I am looking forward to meet my new team and win trophies with my new teammates. I want to give back the love that everyone has shown me and to thank the fans that welcomed me so warmly”.
