Olympic Games Qualifier: Claude LeRoy’s Congo Brazzaville eliminate Ghana
The Black Meteors of Ghana have failed to qualify into the next stage of the 2016 Olympic Games qualifier after 1-1 aggregate draw losing out on a 5-4 penalty shot out against Congo Brazzaville in the second leg tie on Sunday.
The national U-23 football team of Ghana won the first leg tie 1-0 in Accra last week but in the reverse fixture they failed to defend their solitary lead as Congo Brazzaville struck the first goal in the first department of the game.
Both teams failed to update the score sheet in the second half as the game ended on a 1-1 aggregate. In the penalty shot out, Emmanuel Nti Mensah missed Ghana’s fourth kick as the home side took the advantage to score their last kick which qualifies them into the next stage of the Olympic Games qualifier.
