Asamoah Gyan offically joins Shanghai SIPG
Black Stars of Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has officially joined Chinese Super liga side, Shanghai SIPG on a two year deal with an option for a renewal.
The former Al Ain hit man put pen to paper after completing a successful medical last Thursday at a hospital located in the township of Shanghai in the company of his senior brother, Baffuor Gyan and his manager, Samuel Anim Addo.
According to media reports, Asamoah Gyan will earn a weekly salary of $350,000 making him the 8th highest paid footballer in the World.
The club was unable to organize a press conference to unveil Asamoah Gyan as their latest signing with the team traveling to Guangzhou to face R&F in an away league match.
The unveiling ceremony is now likely to take place next week Tuesday or Wednesday as the side will return from the league match on Monday.
The 29 year old attacker after signing the contract said: “I thank God for this special day, to my family, former playmates at Al Ain and to my fans.
“I reserve the rest of my comments for the official unveiling next week.”
