GFA Prez Kwesi Nyantakyi eyes FIFA’s top post
Ghana Football Association President [GFA] and CAF executive committee member, Kwesi Nyantakyi has opened up on his ambition of assuming the FIFA’s top post in the future.
The world football governing body are expected to go to the polls next year after the incumbent, Sepp Baltter who has been suspended for the 90 days over alleged corruption by the body’s ethics committee decided to step down.
The leading candidate for the top post, Michel Platini[UEFA boss] together with the General secretary of the federation, Jerome Valcke were also hit with 90 days suspension over the same count.
However, many candidates have expressed their interest in assuming the top seat and the latest person to do so is the Ghana Football Association President, Kwasi Nyantakyi.
“Africa might as well consider a candidate. Push a candidate that can pull the right votes. I have no doubt that at the right time I could be a candidate.
“I thank people who have that confidence in me, but this needs a lot of consultation with family, friends, CAF and other decision makers in football,” he told Citi FM.
