A Turkish Plane With Gold From Ghana Detained In Istanbul. A Turkish cargo plane supposedly flying from Ghana to Dubai with 1.5 tons of gold aboard has been detained at the airport in Istanbul. According to the Hurriyet daily, the plane was detained due to problems with documentation.
Fatal Accident On N1 Highway. The driver of a mini 4×4 vehicle is feared dead after his car was crashed into by two articulated trucks on the N1 highway. The accident, according to BBC reporter Sammy Darko, occurred around 12 noon and has caused heavy vehicular traffic in the area.
Accident On Bolga-Tamale Road: 30 People Killed. 30 persons are reported to have lost their lives when a Metro Mass Transit bus travelling from Kumasi to Bolgatanga collided with a 207 Benz bus travelling from Bolgatanga to Tamale. The accident occurred at Kogni near Bawah Barracks (airborne barracks) off the Tamale/Bolgatanga road.
